I tested my recently acquired techniques from the Tate Watercolor course on this piece. Quite happy with the results: it relays the sensation of peace and wonder every sunset bestows on me.
Springtime in the english countryside is the perfect venue to practice my newly acquired Turner techniques.
They do make the landscape glow!
This evening, I took my colors to the lake nearby.
I faced the challenge to paint quickly as light was fading but the atmosphere was surreal and calm.
The surface of the lake so smooth and undisturbed was the perfect mirror for the blushing face of the sunsetting sky… while two white swans were gliding silently on it.
This little watercolor will keep this moment in vivid in my memory.
